Solo Jazz Dancer

Solo Jazz

The very prefix "solo" speaks for itself - these movements can be danced solo, regardless of a partner (in contrast to partner dances, such as Lindy Hop, Balboa, Blues) and is usually used at dance parties or at dance events. More clearly and correctly would be called authentic jazz or vernacular jazz. But most definitely, it is a dance of self-expression, freedom of movement and good mood.

Watching the old videos with dancers such as Leon James, Al Minns, Sugar Sullivan, Sandra Gibson, in the first seconds such words as chaos and antics appear in your head, but after a minute you will capture the energy, plasticity, exoticism and dynamism of the performers.

You can dance at any tempo, in fact, to any music, because when you are already familiar with your body and know how to control it, you are not afraid of your hands and feet, or make a "wrong" step, then comes the feeling of harmony and happiness, and on the dance floor there is only you and the music.
